wholewheat chocolate cake, it is one of my experiment recipe, it’s an egg-less cake made with grated apples. I always wanted to make my junk food into little healthier, I tried my hands and make this moist, chocolaty cake loaded with walnuts and chocolate chips. Even kids loved it 🙂 , it’s easy to make no need any fancy equipment needed.

|Whole wheat flour||1 ½ cup|
|Coco powder||½ cup|
|Brown sugar||1 cup|
|Baking powder||2 tsp|
|Chocolate chips||50 grams|
First pre-heat the oven at 180 º C for 15 minutes, now peel and grate the apple and keep it aside. In a mixer jar add the brown sugar and grind it. In a large bowl add oil, powdered brown sugar and whisk it well.
Add the grated apples, mix it well and keep it aside, after few minutes the apple mixture starts to ooze some liquid, now add the flour, coco powder and baking powder and gently mix well, reserve some flour to toss the chocolate chips and walnuts and add it in the cake batter.
Now prepare the loaf tin by greasing it well, pour the batter in the loaf tin and bake it for 30 -45 minutes, once it baked check it with tooth pick, insert a tooth pick in the middle of the cake, the tooth pick comes out clean the cake is ready, if the tooth pick have some batter, bake it for another 5-10 minutes.
Now place the cake on the wire rack and allow it to come to room temperature, slice it and serve it as a tea time snack, refrigerate it to keep the cake fresh for a week. You can freeze it too.
