Orange sponge cake is one of the softest cake. Kids love this cake, the juice and zest of orange make this cake fluffy and light. This cake is similar to pound cake but its really easy to make. I used my sponge cake recipe and added the local fresh oranges for this recipe.

|All purpose flour / maida||1 cup|
|Room temputure butter||½ cup|
|Baking powder||1 tsp|
In a bowl add the softened butter and powdered sugar, using electric hand blender whisk it till the butter and sugar become fluffy. Now add one egg at a time and whisk well. Meanwhile zest and juice the oranges. Now add the zest and juice into the butter mixture, sift in the flour and baking powder and gently mix it. Now pour the batter in the greased and lined baking mold and place it in the oven at 180 ° C for 30-35 minutes or the toothpick insert in the middle of the cake come out clean. Allow the cake to come to room temperature and the unmold it and serve.
