No oven upside down apple cake

No oven upside down apple cake, it’s not a cooker cake. The cake is made in a pan and bake/ cook on the stove top, interesting right. When I saw the recipe that my mom shared in the Facebook  I was like wow!!! There are so many recipes for no oven cake, like you can bake them in the pressure cooker by adding a layer of salt or sand in the bottom of the cooker and bake it on the stove top, but this recipe no need any cake pans or anything like that, it’s like one pot cake on stove top. I want to be honest with you, the cake may not look appealing but it taste was out of the world. The only mistake I did was choosing wrong pan for this recipe, I used a pan with taller rims. When I invert the cake on a serving plate it got collapsed, due to the height of the pan, use a pan with smaller rims. Here is the actual recipe by Tastemade.
I just used their technique and followed my cake recipe. You can use ready-made cake mix/your favorite cake recipe also, just add pinch of cinnamon into the batter.

Sugar½ cup
Maida/all-purpose flour1 cup
Sugar1 cup
Melted butter½ cup
Cinnamon½ inch piece
Vanilla extractfew drops
Baking powder1 tsp


Wash, peel and chop the apples as bite size pieces and add them in the bowl of water and keep it aside.
Place a pan on a medium heat and add ½ cup sugar into the pan, stir it well.
Once the sugar caramelize add the chopped apples and raisins, switch off the flame and add the splash of water.
In another bowl whisk the eggs and vanilla extract using hand blender.
Meanwhile prepare the powdered sugar, by adding the sugar and cinnamon into the mixer jar and grind it.
Add the powdered sugar in to the egg mixture, little at a time and blend it well.
Now pour in the melted butter and whisk it well.
Now add the sifted flour and baking powder and gently fold in to the egg mixture.
Pour the prepared cake batter over the apples and switch on the stove.
2 minutes on medium high flame then cover the pan with its lid and cook for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes insert a tooth pick into the cake, if the tooth pick come out clean your cake is ready.
If some of the batter sticking on the tooth pick, cover the pan and wait for 5 more minutes.
Once the cake is ready invert the pan on serving plate and serve it with scoop of ice-cream or as it is.
