Majjiga murukku / sour buttermilk snack is one of my childhood recipe, my mom make this snack for Diwali. It’s crunchy, spicy and tangy. I like spicy tangy foods compare to sweets, this snack is perfect for people like me π , traditionally the recipe made with fried and ground rice and urad dal but today I’m going to show the other variation.
Let’s see the procedure,

Majjiga murukku Ingredients:-
Rice flour | 2 cups |
Fried gram | 1 cup |
Green chilies | 250 grams |
Sour buttermilk | 500 ml |
Oil | for deep frying |
Salt | 2Β Β½ tsp |
Method:-
First grind the fried gram Β into fine powder and add it in a bowl, Now add the *rice flour and mix well. In a mixer jar add the green chilies and grind it into fine paste by adding the buttermilk, add this paste into the flour, add salt and 1 ladle of oil and make soft dough by adding sour butter milk. Once the dough is ready add it to the murukku maker and press it in the medium hot oil and cook till it golden. Store it in the air tight container and serve it as tea time snack.

*For rice flour – wash the raw rice twice and dry it in the shade then grind it into fine powder.
