Idly podi is the mixture of roasted pulses grind it into fine powder. It’s an essential for any south Indian breakfast. It may look simple but it spicy and crunchy texture tingle your taste buds. we eat the Idly podi usually, mixed it with some sesame oil / melted ghee. Idly with ghee and idly podi …OMG !!! it’s bliss. The following recipe is my MIL version, My mom add coriander seeds and some more ingredients, will post that recipe soon.

Ingredients:-
Chana dal | 1 cup |
Urad dal | 1 cup |
Sesame seeds | ΒΌth cup |
Dry chili | 20-25 |
Curry leaf | 1 bunch |
Salt | to taste |
Procedure:-
Place a wide pan on medium heat, add the dals and dry roast it.
Add the sesame seeds and fry it well, ones it start to splutter add the curry leaves , dry chilies and salt.
Switch off the stove and allow it to cool naturally.
Add the mixture in a food processor / mixer jar and grind it well.
Put the idly podi on a paper or large plate and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
Store the podi in an air tight container and serve it accordingly.
