Gongura soya chunk గోంగూర / புளிச்சைக் கீரை with soya chunk in Telugu and Tamil. Gongura is one of the famous ingredient in Andhra Pradesh, it’s tangy taste make the dish more tastier, there are lots of recipes using gongura, like dal, curry and so on…..
Today I tried this gongura curry, it’s turned out really yummy..
Let’s see the procedure,
Ingredients:-
గోంగూర / புளிச்சைக் கீரை / Gongura | 1 big bunch |
Palak / spinach | 1 big bunch |
Oil | 4 tbsp |
Cumin / jeera | 1 tsp |
Cinnamon | 1 inch stick |
Cloves | 3 |
Cardamom | 2 |
Onions | 3 big |
Tomatoes | 2 Big |
Ginger garlic paste | 1 tsp |
Green chili | 1 |
Soya chunk | 2 handful |
Green peas | handful |
Chili powder | 1 tsp |
Coriander powder | ½ tsp |
Salt | to taste |
Milk | 2-3 tbsp |
Method:-
First soak the soya chunk in enough water, wash and prepare the greens, chop the onions and tomatoes.
Now place a pan on medium high heat, add half of the oil, once the oil is hot enough add cumin seeds and the whole garam masala, fry for few seconds, add the chopped onions and saute till it golden.
Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, green chili and fry well. Once the tomatoes are mushy add the prepared greens and saute for 2 minutes. Add this mixture to the mixer jar and grid it into smooth paste, keep it aside.
In the same pan add the remaining oil and the ground paste, fry for a minute and add the squeezed soya chunk and the green peas, add required amount of water, add the salt and the masalas, cover it with its lid and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
After 5 minutes add splash of milk, mix it well and switch off the flame. Serve this awesome curry with roti/ pulkas, with some onion pieces.
